Animal Assisted Therapy Programs

Our Farm Interaction Programs can be tailored to help many different populations especially those in need of improving their sensory integration. Our natural setting provides a wonderful and calming atmosphere for staff and program participants alike.

Autistic Children (ages 6 and up)

Children with Down Syndrome, as well as

Severely emotionally disturbed children (ages 4 and up)

Groups of elder adults with Alzheimers can benefit from and enjoy these programs.

We can custom design farm interaction programs for children who have been severely abused or neglected to help build trust using our gentle farm animals and the wonders of our gardens and our natural setting. Our staff is exceptionally gifted in being able to support kids' growth as they slowly begin to develop trust and begin to step outside of their protective zones.

Also, in conjunction with agencies which provide Parenting Classes, our staff can help model appropriate and gentle behaviors for parents and their young children (minimum age 4), using their kids' interaction with our gentle farm animals as examples of how to respond instead of react to certain stimuli. This kind of learning is highly effective because it is combined with tactile and sensory rewards; for example, gently holding and stroking a hen can be an incredibly powerful teaching tool.

Individualized Sessions (ages 4 and up)

Length of program:  1-1.5 hours
Cost:  $25 per child for an individual session with a staff member
