Products for Sale

The products we sell help to support our programs for youth from all walks of life and with differing abilities and learning styles.

Deer Hill Ranch has been protected from development by its founders since 1995. The Ranch began humane education programs a year later.

We are committed to respecting the earth and practice humane principles in our interaction with all of our farm animals.

Our cows are grass-fed and we practice holistic range management which includes intensive cell grazing with the aim of improving the health of the pastures. We have seen considerable improvement in the health of the grass species, and a decline in unwanted thistles (yellow star, purple, artichoke) and other weeds.

Our gardens are pesticide free and the seeds we use are organic. Our hens are fed certified organic feed and roam freely throughout the ranch including our pastures and lawn areas.

We are committed to respecting the earth and practice humane principles in our interaction with all of our farm animals, many of whom have been rescued.

Our Products

Organically-Fed Free Range Eggs:
We sell our hens' eggs for $6.00 a carton. You can buy our eggs if you see our sign out on the street or by calling the office at 925.283.1197 to reserve them. (Please bring the cartons back for re-use. One of our customers uses a plastic egg carton which we simply fill each time he comes.)  In the Spring, they will also be available at the Walnut Creek Farmer’s Market most Sundays.
Off-season:  Hens react to the change in seasons during the months of October – March by laying fewer eggs.

Peacock Feathers: Kids love our peacocks, especially during mating season when they are in full display! We sell our peacock feathers for $2.00 a feather and many people who do birthday parties here buy them as party favors to remind the kids what they learned about peacocks when they were here.
